Monofilament thread is made using a single untwisted synthetic filament that is so fine that it appears transparent. These translucent strands are great for when you need to hide your stitches. These large cones of Monofilament, Invisible Nylon Thread hold 16400-yards (15000 meters); that's over 9-miles of thread! Each glossy stand is made using 100% nylon. To get the best results when sewing, Aurifil recommends that you use a size 90/14 or 100/16 microtex/sharp, universal, or embroidery needle for everyday sewing, and a 4.0 needle when quilting with a longarm.
